Brief Summary
Team Fortress 2 is a first person shooter game created by the company Valve. They are also creators of the gaming platform steam. It is the sequel to Team Fortress Classic. There are many different game mechanics compared to other FPS games. There are nine different classes to play each with own unique abilities. There are also many different game modes to play such as capture the flag, payload race, and control points. For more information on the game click here:
What is the purpose
The purpose of this assignment is to compare the different physics of this game. We will use this data to compare to real-life. Does it match up? Is it realistic? Unlike many other games with just guns, there are far more superior mechanics in this game which makes it such an interesting game to pick. We will be going through many of the game's best mechanics and explain them in full detail.
Before we begin
There are a few things to keep in mind, when we are calculating. There is no air resistance in the game. For all the calculations there is no air resistance affect projectiles and objects. Also keep in mind that we cannot compare the health of players to real life since in real life you would be dead if you were hit by a rocket which is much different in the video game. One last thing is that there are so much more physics than what I am about to explain. There are many, many different mechanics that make this such a balanced game.

Projectiles

Projectiles are not like bullets. They do not travel instantaneously accors the map, which makes it tracable. There are many types of projectiles. We will only be looking at the ones that are cool and more important. Different projectiles can have different propeties. To read more on this click to navigate to the website page or the TF2 wiki page.
Airblast

One of the most different mechanics in the game compared to other games is the air blast, or the compression blast. It compresses gas and uses it as a force to move players and many kinds of projectiles. It can easily be one of the strongest weapons if the game, if used correctly.
They also have the power to extinguish burning players which acts as a defensive weapon as well. To read more about it click the TF2 Wiki to go to the webiste or more to navigate to the page
Welcome to TF2
Jumping
Jumping is also a really fantastic mechanic that was accidently created as it was not suppose to be part of the game. Since then, jumping has changed on TF2. Unlike normal jumps on a person, a soldier or demoman can actually use explosive which force them to 'jump' even higher. To learn more, click either the two buttons. The TF2 wiki has great information about jumping.
